The name “Scrum” is derived from the game of rugby, where a “scrum” is a method of restarting play. In software development, Scrum organises a team to work together to achieve a common goal. The Scrum framework is built around the concept of “sprints”, which are short, time-boxed periods (typically 2-4 weeks) during which the team works to deliver a potentially releasable product increment. The key roles in Scrum are the Product Owner, Scrum Master, and the Development Team.
